🍵 Matcha Reviews: LITTLE ROGUE | Matcha Latte

Updated: Mar 19, 2022

For the second review on this blog, we will be returning once again to a discreet laneway cafe in Melbourne city. The first time I visited LITTLE ROGUE was during 2019, when I first relocated here to Melbourne. LITTLE ROGUE is a very popular cafe that is always bursting at the seams trying to accomodate all its patrons, so you may find it more difficult to get a seat here. The size of the cafe is very small and seems to be more geared towards serving takeaway customers. Of all the times I've visited LITTLE ROGUE, I have mostly had to settle for takeaway; only on a few occasions has there been a seat available for me to dine in.

The service has always been friendly and fast and I've always waited a reasonable amount of time for my drink.

For me, the hot matcha latte ($4.3 - $6) is the highlight out of all of LITTLE ROGUE's offerings. The matcha latte is thick, smooth and has a very clear matcha flavour. If you order the larger size and are able to dine in, it feels like you get a very generous amount.

One thing I've noticed is that the matcha latte sometimes has a slight (for lack of a better word) yogurt-y flavour. I suspect it depends on the barista preparing it as the balance of flavours varies from time to time.

Overall, the matcha lattes at LITTLE ROGUE have always been reliable for when I'm feeling like a hot drink in the city. It is definitely a place for matcha latte lovers to check out.

As a venue, LITTLE ROGUE is still a great place to hang out at out, although don't put too much hope in getting a seat during its peak hours.

Final verdict: WORTH CHECKING OUT ✅

Atmosphere and venue: ⭐️⭐️
